Negril is the most laid back area of Jamaica. It has held on to the “ire” vibe.
With Negril’s heavenly beaches, swaying palm trees and tropical charm, this destination has to be one of the most romantic places on earth. Brides and Grooms who want a “no problem” honeymoon will love this Jamaican treasure. Negril is perfect for the romantic, adventurous, cultural and social honeymoon couple.
Negril has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, know as the 7 mile beach. The beach has been rated as one of the top ten beaches in the world by many travel magazines. The north end of the beach is home to the large, all-inclusive resorts, and to the south are the smaller, family-run boutique hotels. This combination gives the Negril area a large variety of rooms, services and prices. One of Brides Travel’s favorite resorts, Sandals Negril, is situated right on the 7 mile beach.
To the south of the main beach area is West End Road, known as the “cliffs”, which is lined with resorts that offer more privacy. There is easy access to the ocean by the cliffs. This part of Negril is good for snorkeling and diving, with jumping points reaching more than 40 feet high. You will need to check out Rick’s Cafe!
The people of Negril are very friendly and social. Reggae is often playing through out the town with local and visitors alike dancing along.
The weather is a perfect honeymoon or destination wedding temperature. The warm season lasts from June 8 to September 30 with an average daily high temperature above 88°F. The cold season lasts from December 10 to March 17 with an average daily high temperature below 84°F.
Getting there is easy! You can fly into Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. Most resorts do over transfers. And yes, you can arrive by cruise ship.
